Experts in Oxbridge Admissions for Mathematics

World-Leading Programmes for MAT, STEP & Oxbridge Interviews

Our Courses At a Glance

I have developed the world’s only curriculum – that is, comprehensive courses and not just isolated tutoring as offered by other companies – for each of the Oxbridge admission tests & interviews for mathematics.

Our Oxbridge curriculum ensures a complete mastery and preparation by teaching topic-by-topic. In lessons, we teach all the tricks and techniques – even those that have not been assessed yet in previous years – to ensure that our students are prepared for anything that may come up.

This year, we successfully predicted MAT, TMUA & interview questions, and as a result our students tackled them with confidence.

Following our lessons, our students receive a problem sheet for each topic with over 100 questions each.

We also offer mock papers (this includes marking) and mock interviews (see below).

For each topic in our curriculum, we’ve designed a problem sheet with over 100 questions. This will ensure our students are extremely prepared, seeing as they will have been exposed to hundreds of more questions, tricks and techniques than the average competitive applicant.

Each problem sheet contains solutions, either in the form of videos or as a typed document (to give students the flexibility). Students are welcome to use sessions to discuss the sheets and any concerns they may have.

Nearing the exams, we also offer several original mock papers, which our students greatly benefit from. This gives them additional practice papers that no one else will have. We also offer mocking services where students will sit the papers (either the original mock papers, or past papers) in exam conditions in a call with our team-members. This will equip them with the soft skills  and exam techniques required to succeed on these exams, and ensure they are mentally prepared.

As part of our Oxbridge interviews curriculum (lessons by topic, and problem sheets), we also offer a bank of hundreds of past and original Oxbridge interview questions.  Our original interview questions have successfully predicted several questions in past application cycles.

We provide regular Oxbridge-style mock interviews – personalised to fit the specific colleges our students apply to – to ensure our students have first-hand experience of the interviews. After each interview, our students receive personalised feedback, which includes an Oxbridge-style score (usually from 1 to 10) and feedback on how to improve.

We care deeply about the success of our students, and therefore we provide regular 1-1 mentoring with our lead expert, Ali Jassam.

In these calls (ideally attended with a parent or guardian), the progress of the student is discussed as well as the next steps necessary to ensure their success in the application cycle.

Welcome To Jassam Mathematics

Ali is a world-leading mathematics tutor – specialising in Oxbridge admissions – and has thousands of hours of experience in tutoring students and coaching them for exams. Ali has taught students from most continents, and has profound success in coaching his students for all types of Mathematics and Physics exams (GCSEs, A-Levels, UKMT and BPHO competitions, Oxbridge admission tests and interviews). Many of his students have won places at Oxford and Cambridge, as well as having remarkable progress – several of his students have jumped from E to A in AS Maths and Further Maths in 6 weeks of tutoring, and others have won Golds in national Mathematics and Physics competitions.

Ali’s unique courses will teach you all of the theory, ideas and tricks, and problem-solving strategies that are implicitly required to succeed on these tests and interviews. Often, most students struggle when practising as they are not aware of what tricks to learn, or what content could be useful to learn. That’s why Ali has broken down the process and packaged everything into a linear course, which will teach you everything needed and provide you with hundreds of practice questions to ensure you perform at the highest level of the Oxbridge applicants.

Coming soon:

From summer 2024 we will be offering our programmes for Physics admission tests such as the PAT and interviews for Oxford Physics, Cambridge Natural Sciences and related degrees.

We will also be offering programmes for Maths competitions (e.g. UKMT challenges and Olympiads) and Physics competitions (e.g. BPHO Physics challenges, Physics Olympiads and Astrophysics Olympiads).

What We Offer

Oxbridge Admission Test Prep

MAT and STEP 2/3 Courses

As outlined above, we have designed a unique and comprehensive curriculum for each admission test. In doing so, we have demystified the process of preparing these tests into a series of lessons, problem sheets, and mock papers. This linear progression style of education embedded in our courses breaks down the preparation process and reduces it to a form of learning that is more akin to the simple process of learning A-Levels.

For each topic, the students will receive lessons that teach all of the necessary tricks and problem-solving strategies. The lessons may even include tricks and ideas that have not been assessed in past questions yet. Lessons are each followed by a problem sheet with over 100 questions that ensures the student has a complete mastery and understanding of all of the types of questions that could and have come up for those topics. This process is then repeated for all the main topics, and extends to topics that we feel would be useful for the students to learn, but is not explicitly part of the official syllabus for these tests. Nearing the dates of the exams, our students receive several original mock papers and mock services to ensure they also develop the exam techniques and soft skills needed to succeed on these tests (e.g. timing, exam strategies, etc.).

Oxbridge Interviews

For Mathematics & Related-Degrees (Maths with CS, Maths with Philosophy, Maths with Stats, etc.)

Just like for the admission tests, we have prepared a curriculum to prepare students for Oxbridge interviews. Most Oxbridge interview questions are based on a handful of mathematical ideas and popular tricks that most students would not have encountered yet. This gives them an unfair disadvantage, and rewards the students who have seen similar types of questions before.

Our courses will teach – topic by topic – all of the theory, useful ideas and tricks that students should be aware of, and that have come up before in Oxbridge interviews. This is followed by a problem sheet with dozens of past and original interview questions, to develop a complete mastery of that topic. It is our hope that by completing these sheets, the student will have learnt and seen most of the types of possible interview questions – for each topic – and will not be surprised by any questions  in their interviews. Our courses also include lessons on popular interview topics not covered at A Level such as combinatorics (including path grids, recursion, etc.), number theory, and much more. Any student who completes our interview courses will be more prepared than over 90% of Oxbridge applicants, and should feel very confident in their abilities.

A Levels

Maths and Further Maths

We also offer tutoring services for A Level Mathematics & Further Mathematics for all exam boards.

Due to Ali’s background in having self-taught A Level Maths and Further Maths and sitting them early – achieving A* in years 11 & 12 respectively – he knows exactly how to prepare and study for A Level examinations. Ali also has over 7 years of experience in tutoring and supporting students to study for A Levels, and has helped over a thousand students get A*s in their exams. This is reflected in the immensely successful results that his students continue to enjoy.

Many past students of his achieved A*s in their A Levels thanks to his tuition. Notable improvements were students whom went from Us and Es to As in their AS Maths exams in 6 weeks of tutoring.

Our son's tutor, Maria, was an excellent tutor and made sure that my son not only improved his maths, but also his exam technique and confidence. At the beginning, our son was scoring around 50 marks in past papers and then achieved over 80 in the real thing. He says that her lessons, mentoring and resources were the only reason he did so well and for that, I'm very thankful!
MAT (parent of student)
Admitted to study Mathematics at Oxford University, and offered by Imperial College London
Ali tutored me for my Cambridge interview and then for STEP 2 and 3 when I received my offer. He has been an outstanding tutor and is the main reason I managed to get a place! Ali explained concepts really clearly, and made sure to go over loads of examples and questions.
He is also extremely knowledgeable about the admission process, and answered all my questions (including picking a college). I highly recommend his tuition and support!
STEP 2 and STEP 3
Admitted to study Mathematics at Cambridge University
[... Ali] spent countless hours tailoring lessons, sourcing materials, and providing super perceptive feedback that spurred our growth. His commitment and the remarkable results he produced made him well-known in our school, where he was a source of inspiration for many. The improvements that many of us made in maths that led to him advocating for us to the maths department, enabling us to sit the further maths and additional maths exams, something previously not offered at our school. The department entrusted the responsibility of teaching us to him, and within one weekend he had elevated us to A* students in these new subjects.
